Equestrian Portrait Sessions are intentionally crafted to honor and preserve the horse you love dearly and the bond you’ve built with them during your journey together. The artwork created from your session is hand-crafted with unmatched quality down to the finest detail - making each keepsake a true family heirloom to be enjoyed for generations. Ashley specially designs sessions, keepsakes and wall-art to fit the vision you have for preserving your horse’s legacy.
PRESERVING A LEGACY
Ashley specializes in creating one-of-a-kind, sentimental art of the horse that means the world to you. Like my own horse, I am betting your horse is considered family, and captures a huge part of your heart day-in and day-out. From the neigh that greets us from the barn and makes us smile, to overcoming tough lessons that made us feel accomplished and closer in partnership. Even on hard days, you probably wouldn’t trade horses for the world, because they are your world.
The time we get with our horses never seems long enough and if you are anything like me, having beautiful mementos of them before they cross the rainbow bridge is a must. Like with my own horse, I believe in creating quality art that truly lasts and that captures the things I adore about them and the partnership I have built with them - from the irresistibly cute muzzle, to their soulful eyes, and pricked ears, to the simple moments of connection.

FIne-art Sessions
Fine-art sessions are designed to leave you with sentimental and artistic professionally-printed keepsakes of your heart horse. Ashley takes special care to capture and transform your Equine partner into an elegant work of art for any room in your home. I will guide you from start to finish and leave you with stunning artwork made for just you and your horse. Fine-art Sessions include a large print credit that you may spend on Professional artwork of your horse after your session.

Ashley offers quality Keepsake Print Boxes as well as Professionally printed wall art that you can enjoy in your favorite spaces for a lifetime. Horses are like potato chips; you can’t just have one. If you have multiple “heart horses,” the Multi-horse Portrait is a great way to include each of your horses in one stunning heirloom artwork piece. Multi-horse Portraits are available to be added onto any Fine-art Portrait Session or can also be booked as a standalone Session.

Before your Session: I can’t wait to hear more about your beloved horse and plan a session with you that will truly capture them in a meaningful manner. You’ll receive guidance on how to best prepare and how to get the most out of your session with Ashley Payne Photography. I am here for guidance before, during and after your session. Before I pick up my camera and we head out to love on your horse for an hour or two, I will have you fill out a quick Questionnaire to help me get to know more about your horse and plan to create art that is meaningful to you!
Your Session: This is where we will love on your horse - and depending on the session you choose - hang out in the comfort of the barn aisle or adventure through fields and creeks, pose on pretty paths, and everything in between. I’ll have my camera along to document the magic that unfolds - but will pay special attention to detail to ensure you and your horse look your best. Don’t forget to bring your horse’s favorite treats!

Creating your Art: After your Session, I will spend a few weeks hand-editing your portraits to ensure they are exceptional works of art, ready for your home. Not that you or your horse need any photoshopping - I am usually editing out things like leads, bugs, manure, and background distractions that you wouldn’t want in your final portraits. This process takes time, but is worth it for creating timeless art that you will have for years to come. Trust me - they will be gorgeous!
The Reveal: 5-8 weeks after your Session, I will reveal your full gallery in a private online gallery! At this time, we will set a date to select your printed wall art and keepsakes together - this is where your favorite portraits come to life and are preserved as beautiful high-quality keepsakes.
Artwork Selection Guidance: Together we will create a sentimental collection of high-quality art for display in your home and keepsakes that you can enjoy many years down the road. I will show you design options on the walls of your home by digitally overlaying your portraits onto your home wall with Mockups. Mockups are a great way to look at various wall design options before you choose your favorite. This can be done for any wall in your home, and will allow us to create art pieces that best fit your space and preferred aesthetic. All that is needed are a few photographs of your home walls. I take complimentary Professional photos for you or send you instructions to do this in about 15-20 minutes yourself. All printed artwork is offered a la carte so that we can create a custom collection of printed keepsakes that truly matter to you. Wall Art & Printed keepsakes are fully customized and made just for you and your horse. Print credits included with your session can be applied towards your preferred artwork purchase after your session. To ensure you are left with artwork that you love, Ashley will work with you to design art by showing you various options on your own home walls. To make wall art selection easy, Ashley digitally overlays your portraits onto the walls of your home allowing you to compare various design options and together we will select the one that best fits your space and preferences. Complimentary web-resolution Digitals for Social Media are included with each print purchase so that you can also share your portraits online with friends and family.
Files for self-printing are not included, but can be purchased if you wish to handle your own printing needs. If you wish to use any of your portraits for advertising or commercial use, please contact Ashley.
A Travel fee will apply for locations 1+ hours outside of Nashville, TN.

After your session, I will help you choose meaningful and intentionally designed wall art by showing you design options within your own home or barn space. Portraits from your session can be digitally exhibited on any wall in your home - all I need are a few photos of the space where you would like to see them displayed. Together we will choose artwork that is sentimental to you and will have an impact for years to come. Wall Art offered by Ashley Payne Photography is handcrafted with quality that you can see and feel. Each art piece is constructed of museum-grade materials, specially protected against fading and yellowing, and rated to last 100-200+ years. Artwork that we create together will yield your own personal collection of true Equestrian Heirlooms.

Q: Where do you travel to?
A: Ashley Payne Photography currently offer sessions in TN, KY, VA, NC, SC, GA, AL, FL, & MI. Specific locations within each state are determined based upon interest. A travel fee will apply to locations outside of Middle TN. Ashley will let you know what the travel cost is for your location prior to booking.
Q: How can I best prepare for my session?
A: After booking, you will receive a Session Preparation Guide which will walk you through how to prepare yourself and your horse to ensure you get the most out of your session. You will also receive a Session Questionnaire to fill out prior to your session, which will help me get to know you, your preferences, and help me to tailor your session to fit you and your horse best.
Q: How long will it take to receive my online gallery?
A: All galleries are hand-edited with meticulous detail to ensure your portraits will look flawless on your home walls. Not that you need any editing - but to ensure things like leads, manure, flies, and large blemishes are removed from your portraits. Most galleries are ready within 6-8 weeks. Larger galleries can take additional time.
Q: How many horses can you photograph per date?
A: Up to 7 Fine-art Sessions per date, per location (with the exception of Heirloom Sessions as these take longer). Generally, only 1 Outdoor Horse & Rider Session is scheduled per date to allow for the best possible lighting and experience. Classic Horse & Rider Sessions are the exception and will be photographed on the same date as your Fine-art Session.
Q: Do you offer group rates?
A: Yes - group rates are offered for sessions booked at the same barn. Rates for Barns booking multiple sessions can be found under Sessions & Packages.
Q: Can I print the digital portraits included with my package?
A: The packages above are a worry-free and full-service experience that include images for sharing to social media + access to high-quality professional art and design services from Ashley Payne Photography. Images included with the above packages are non-printable, however, if you would like high-resolution images and wish to handle your own printing needs, a Print Release + high-resolution images for printing can be purchased from Ashley Payne Photography.

Booking. A $500 session deposit and signed contract will reserve your session date; the $500 session fee is nonrefundable. The remaining total of your selected session will be due 2 weeks prior to your session date.
Travel Fee. A travel fee will apply to sessions 1+ hours outside of Nashville, TN. This fee is determined based upon travel distance. Travel costs can be split between clients if more than one session is booked for the same date at the same location. Ashley will let you know prior to booking if there is a travel fee for your location.
Tax. Sales tax is not included with package pricing and will be added where applicable.
